Of course, when your pet is sick it's important that he or she see a veterinarian. But, did you know that it's just as important for your pet to see a veterinarian for routine wellness care?
Younger, healthy pets should have an annual examination. At the visit, the veterinarian will complete a head-to-tail physical exam, answer any questions you may have, and go over specific healthcare recommendations for your dog or cat. Senior pets may need an exam every six months and pets with chronic conditions may need to be seen even more frequently. Remember, pets age much faster than humans do. Even though only a few months or a year has passed, your dog or cat may have aged the equivalent of many "human years."
